Flight Path Forum Incorporated was
established in April 2019 in response to a failed community
consultation process by Airservices Australia during the final
stages of planning for new flight paths for Runway 13/31 at
Sunshine Coast Airport.
Our aims are to:
Provide advocacy and support
to our members across both the Sunshine Coast Council and
Noosa Shire Council areas who are affected by these flight
path changes, including local community groups and
individual members with an interest in this issue during
engagement with local, State and Federal government
representatives, Airservices Australia, the Civil Aviation
and Safety Authority, Sunshine Coast Airport and other
Advocate for the protection of residents and sensitive
natural environments from aircraft emissions and noise
impacts from aircraft using flight paths for runway 13/31.
Highlight and remedy the lack of consultation about
flight path changes, environmental impacts and aircraft
movement numbers, through research, analysis and
presentation of submissions to elected representatives and
State and Commonwealth agencies on behalf of our members.
To remedy the lack of information presented to the
community about changes to flight paths and the potential
impacts by keeping members and community associations up
to date with our research findings through newsletters,
publications, media and correspondence.
To investigate alternatives for a fully revised flight
path system that will reduce impacts on the communities
and environments of the Northern Sunshine Coast region.
Work collaboratively with
voluntary affiliated community associations to improve
outcomes for our combined membership and affected
residents in our communities.
